Kyrios..thanks for your reply. As you indicated, I looked at the installed tab in the software center page. It shows both CUPS and HPLIP being installed. I’m thinking this is confusing my computer somehow. I was able to get my printer working this morning using a USB cable, but I think it is installed on the CUPS driver according to the test page which printed out. If I understand what some of you guys are saying in the forum pages, this means I will only have print capability, but not fax or scan capability. Is this why you guys are directing HP users to the HPLIP driver package, so that print/scan/fax functions all work? If so, what is the proper way to delete the CUPS driver from my system, either CLI or GUI, so that only the HPLIP is present? I tried using the remove function in the software center page, but somehow borked my system, and had to completely re-install from scratch. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Bouquins..thank you for the tip about the CLI function to add HPLIP. I have your tip saved in my notes in case I can’t get the GUI way to work.
