Many of these remarks are going to be addressed, it's a pity that obviously they didn't read the last blog posts.
It is true that the repository isn't (and will never) be as big as the repository of some other distributions but honestly this kind of feedback sounds more to me like something that people repeat because other people said that rather than because they really couldn't find something they need. Keep in mind that :
- Solus doesn't usually split packages into a multitude of sub-packages like some distributions do
- Apart from some stuffs needed by developers, Solus does not packages software aimed to run on servers
Some users may face issues however with:
- Out of tree kernel modules
- (Closed source) software that are only shipped as .deb or .rpm
Regarding Firefox, there are scripts that have to be executed on the Solus servers to generate the language packs. Just during the vacations of @JoshStrobl Mozilla released 2 versions of Thunderbird and 2 versions of Firefox. Seeing the last update of Firefox isn't a critical thing, and Josh kindly ran the scripts for the 3 other releases, I didn't insist to get the language packs for building the version 66.0.2. It can wait until he's back.
About UEFI, the specs say there can be only one ESP partition on removable devices but it doesn't explicitly tell that for internal devices. I started this guide to help people.
