catmagi well better is to update, repo version is from 2018
Solus Plasma defaults
That's a yikes 0-0 I just assumed it was updated because it was rebuilt recently
Hi ! I'd like to suggest something that I've ran into on all my Plasma installs, whether in Solus, Debian or other distros. Would it be possible to make numlock on by default at the system start ? For some reason, KDE's numlock options in System settings > input devices > keyboard never had any effect on my systems.
The default way to enable it IIRC is to create a file /etc/sddm.conf and add this simple line Numlock=on
Maybe it only bothers me though
Also as someone already told above, the default theme makes Kate unusable unless you hit ctrl+a to highlight everything. Dark font on a dark background is really impossible to read, and unlike some fiddlers I have no idea how to change this specific app's background colour !
Thanks for this KDE version, it really does the job for me I'm still quite in love with Budgie so maybe one day I'll get back, but for now KDE is the way to go !

Hi,
it would be nice to be able to install tools via appstream url, like this,
https://phabricator.kde.org/D13706
trixon this would need really deep testing, that it doesnt brake any stuff and discover wont be added to the repo
A good review of Solus KDE; https://www.linuxinsider.com/story/Solus-Shines-With-Plasma-Desktop-Options-86487.html
RE + 1 for the activation of the digital lock at startup this would suit me well because in my passwords I always include numbers. I did not have any updates this weekend is this normal ? by cons my girlfriend who is on Solus Mate had.
Rectification!! I just received the updates this afternoon
- Edited
I was a gnome fan at the first ubuntu days, before ubuntu i was using always kde it was pretty good. Now i'm a kde fan again i just prefer it.
Girtablulu - You may check Nomad Desktop by Nitrux built on KDE...

Thanks for doing this. I moved back to solus and this is the first KDE env that isnβt like emptying a few tool chests at my feet.
one feedback on the default dark them is I canβt tell active from non active windows because the title bar color is the same. The font color contrast as the only visual cue is not enough of a difference. Probably a personal or monitor issue
good job. Thanks
[deleted] Na, I changed it that the inactive goes darker and the active is lighter
- Roboto Font would be a great choice, so would Ubuntu or Fira Sans.
- Some light elements in gtk theme
- GTK theme restore button is the same as maximize button. See breeze gtk for how to implement correctly.

What I do on my Solus Plasma install:
- Use icon tasklist
- Use the other non-fullscreen menu (I think it's more "out of the way")
- Put "show desktop" on right corner
- Use "active monitor follows mouse" (I think this is the default by now)
- Disable saving session
Izaic What Plasma does v.s. what we do with Plasma are two different things.
Izaic I know what they doing, and I try to believe they stole some of our ideas we had
I was working a bit again on the theme, I added a light theme as well so anyone up for testing? after you done testing you need to run
sudo eopkg it --reinstall plasma-desktop-branding
