Hello lovely people,

I'm looking for feedback on the default Solus Samba configuration, which I just updated to support IPv6 private and link-local addresses as well as the wsdd Web Services Discovery Daemon, which implements Windows 7+ Network Discovery.

I've updated the Solus Samba File Sharing HOWTO in the Help Center, so check that out if you want to give wsdd a shot.

Let me know if you run into issues and I'll do my best to sort them for the next sync.

Happy Samba-ing!

Which software do you use for file sharing on Solus?

I had some problems with samba before, folders/files permissions I think. So now I'm using NitroShare.

I mostly use sshfs on my LAN

I never really setup samba or anything like that, I just use sshfs/scp/rsync.

If I had an actual server I'd setup samba or ftp but for my relatively simple network it's moot.

Since i started using Linux almost 4 years ago, i have been using samba to connect to a NAS. I find it very easy to setup, and it has been working great for me so far, probably because of a good Solus Samba default configuration.

Thank you for maintaining it ermo (Kodi also), and for the updated "Solus Samba File Sharing HOWTO" in the Help Center!
