jujey paracetamol brent i can't use eopkg commands, I rebooted my pc to this https://i.imgur.com/u04YeAI.jpg also tried which python again and it said /usr/bin/python but i've been thinking why would i try to fix this if it will happen again if i reinstall solus, solus is broken i should probably switch :/
DataDrake jujey Are you sure you were not removing things you though were unnecessary and then uninstalled a fair portion of your system? It looks like you managed to remove systemd and you're pretty much going to have to reinstall at this point.
jujey DataDrake no I was actually just watching a Video on Firefox with Discord opened on a different workspace, then loged out to Budgie (cause I was using Openbox) and suddenly Firefox wasn't there and a bunch of things didn't work.
jujey DataDrake I was actually using a different Openbox and not the one in the repos, did that end up breaking my whole system? https://github.com/jujey/dots/blob/master/openbox-3.6.1-2-1-x86_64.eopkg this was provided by someone in Solus Forum.
algent jujey If there is uninstalled something it should be in eopkg history. eopkg hs and you can try to check if anything is broken sudo eopkg check
jujey algent I repeat eopkg doesn't work. and I didn't uninstall anything I was just normally using my computer.
paracetamol Crucial parts of your system are missing. It's very hard to imagine just normally using your computer would cause that. At this point I'd back up my data and go for a fresh install. I'd also check my HDD/SDD's health.
jujey paracetamol yeah I know, this is the part where I'm confused, I was just watching a video then loged out and this happened.
DataDrake paracetamol Yeah, the other option I was thinking of was file corruption from a failing drive.
jujey I'll reinstall Solus and not use the .eopkg from that patched Openbox to see if it was breaking my system.
jujey everything is working fine for now, there's just a new error every time I try to install something with eopkg
brent Clean install was your best bet after that nuclear wasteland above! If was me re-installing: another new .iso, another reformat of the usb, and let Solus format the target drive during install. Starting fresh worked for you, apparently. Congrats.
jujey DataDrake btw do u know how to fix this? https://discuss.getsol.us/d/3602-updating-systemd-tmpfiles-failed thx
Justin Did you install from a 4.1 ISO or 4.0 or earlier? If 4.0 and earlier you'll need to fully upgrade, then hard reboot and then you should be fine. Agreed re others on HDD/SSD file corruption.
