JoshStrobl is NFS share automount a SPECIFIC usecase ? seriously ?
Of course I know you tried the package release, and tried to get as much feedback as possible, but obviously I am not alone with NFS problems. And no, fstab settings for getting access to a NFS share is still not an obsolete scenario.
I did not want to be harsh, english is not my native language. So I you feel hurted, I am plain sorry for this. (french asshole here ;-) )
If you have any clue or a nice howto for making NFS shares mount automaticaly than just a 'It worked fine in our usecases, so your specific usecase we don't care, fix it yourself alone !', it will warmly welcome !
So, in the mean time, I built a lame script to execute that lame "mount /mnt/NFS-SHARE" command and put it in autostart settings of budgie, but it is really not the best way to fix such problem, do you agree or is it really that smart ?
systemd was already a big POS when it was released many years ago, it borked some of my gentoo servers at that time. I never thought we could go into same level of troubles in 2020... At least none of my 3 solus computers got fully down, but missing access to my NFS central storage is actually a difficulty.
So, what are you suggesting to fix that mess ? Full reinstall I guess ? Or is systemd v244 unable to auto mount any NFS share ? If it can, I am really awaiting for a link to the best practice to make them work properly together, as the systemd mount file method does not work either, nor the automount trick.
Let me now if you need some input to make your minds clearer about my specific usecase.
