derp.... saw the 390 and didn't even think as my GPU is an AMD R9 390. I sudo eopkg upgraded all other pending updates except the linux and amd/openrazor stuff, and then deleted all the nvidia stuff. i run sudo eopkg up, and it still wants to update the nvidia stuff, even though running
sudo eopkg rm nvidia-390-glx-driver-common nvidia-glx-driver-common
again says they don't exist, and can't be removed.
