I roughly remember my hard-soft config and what distro I'm currently in, so don't use neofetch. The datetime stamp is more interesting thing.
When a long path of the current dir eats up to a whole line and forces a command to be typed in to split over two lines it's a useless waste of the precious command line space. Two-lines bash prompt seems to be more suitable:
- the first line holds the current path
- the second line comfortably accepts long commands
Solus Plasma Konsole:
Current date and time are formatted and piped to figlet
(not in Solus repo) and centered in the window:
date +'%Y-%m-%d %H:%M' | figlet -c
The bash prompt is made this way:
PS1="\[\e[01;31m\]┌──[\[\e[01;35m\u\e[01;31m\]]@[\[\e[00;37m\]${HOSTNAME%%.*}\[\e[01;31m\]]:\w$\[\e[01;31m\]\n\[\e[01;31m\]└─\[\e[01;34m\]> \[\e[0m\]"
Cannot recall where I got Konsole background image from.
