As the title says, I'm using k3b to rip some cd's and it says it needs "transcode" - I don't know what this is and it doesn't show up if I search it on the software center

can you please run
sudo eopkg it --reinstall k3b
k3b comes with everything what it needs to copy a dvd, I just tried it and works for me
Hi all,
I have the same problem as OP. Tried Girtablulu suggestion. Didn't work for me
K3b still doesn't see transcode (as well as a few other things, but I'm not sure I need them for ripping DVD).
Couldn't find transcode in the repos. Is it there under a different name? Or is there an alternative that can just rip a dvd?
I've got a TV that can play media files so I'm moving my discs onto an SDD but want to set up a batch encode job in handbrake with discs pre-ripped to folders. So it's all legit as far as I know!!
Edit was for clarity.
Update; I can totally achieve what I need to with k3b.
Just go through copy dvd - save as .iso.
Handbrake picks up the .iso no problem!
