Hi there. I have the same problem here. This looks like OS start into the
black screen. But really it is so slow Desktop Env. It started with an update. Because there is no error dmesg. I have to debug:
- I replaced my current latest bugged Solus OS by version from live booted ISO image
- On fresh new Solus from ISO I updated packages group by group with system reboot on each update.
- I rolled back with
eopkg history and
eopkg history -t <number> if a slow Desktop Env bug starts appear again.
- I managed to find package update which causes slow user inteface
# eopkg history
Operation #15: upgrade
Date: 2019-11-05 10:36
* linux-current is upgraded from 4.20.16-112-1-x86_64 to 5.3.7-132-1-x86_64.
My graphic card:
# lspci | grep 'VGA'
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 630 (rev 04)
Note: Problem appeared also on upgrade from other versions of
5.3.7-132-1-x86_64. So problem has to be in
5.3.7-132-1-x86_64. I have same version of
linux-current at home with Nvidia graphic card on the machine and there is no problem, so I suspect the
Intel Corporation HD Graphics 630 is one causing the slow Desktop Env BUG.
