Hi there. I have the same problem here. This looks like OS start into the black screen
. But really it is so slow Desktop Env. It started with an update. Because there is no error dmesg. I have to debug:
- I replaced my current latest bugged Solus OS by version from live booted ISO image
Solus-4.0-Budgie.iso
.
- On fresh new Solus from ISO I updated packages group by group with system reboot on each update.
- I rolled back with
eopkg history
and eopkg history -t <number>
if a slow Desktop Env bug starts appear again.
- I managed to find package update which causes slow user inteface
linux-current 5.3.7-132-1-x86_64
.
# eopkg history
Operation #15: upgrade
Date: 2019-11-05 10:36
* linux-current is upgraded from 4.20.16-112-1-x86_64 to 5.3.7-132-1-x86_64.
My graphic card:
# lspci | grep 'VGA'
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 630 (rev 04)
Note: Problem appeared also on upgrade from other versions of linux-current
to 5.3.7-132-1-x86_64
. So problem has to be in 5.3.7-132-1-x86_64
. I have same version of linux-current
at home with Nvidia graphic card on the machine and there is no problem, so I suspect the Intel Corporation HD Graphics 630
is one causing the slow Desktop Env BUG.
