There is an international qwerty layout option that let's you type some digraphs by doing stuff like alt + ' followed by a letter to put an accent on it. I haven't used it in a while, but last time I tried the digraphs were sometimes buggy when you copy pasted them from one application to another, so I wasn't very satisfied.

Thank you for the info!! I also think of using a wireless keyboard and mouse at home but not very practical when traveling ...
I was wondering if someone with a qwerty keyboard and English (US) could have tried the accents, I saw videos on YT or people do it but on a different Linux OS. If I had a qwerty keyboard I could have tried but as I said above I do not have any.My future laptop ends at auction tomorrow evening 18h (French) that's why I wanted to know before.
