Has anyone testing Solus on unstable tried using a RX 5700? I just came back from Manjaro where it was laggy and bugged out to hell, and I am hoping it might be better over here. Right now I'm using my RX 580 in the meantime.

Thanks in advance!

Astilex You should check this discussion: https://discuss.getsol.us/d/1899-radeon-rx-5700xt

TLDR: Currently Solus doesn't have the 5.3 kernel because it prevents NVidia users from booting. And when it will have it, there's no guarantee that it will work because you would need to successfully install it first from an ISO with an older kernel, and so far I haven't succeeded doing that.

I haven't tried Manjaro, but I'm running Fedora 31 (beta iso, final version to be released soon) and it works fine, until the day that I can run Solus again. 🙂

polomi I did see that discussion, this question was more directed at people using Solus unstable. But It seems those people are far and few between.

As for a workaround. I would like to think if you use a Polaris Card to install Solus and then swap it out with the Navi Card that should hopefully work.

Not sure why this matters. Unstable is on the 5.2 series.
