We need some Solus merch to wear around like shirts and hats etc! I know myself and many others would totally buy some. I did just read DataDrake's post on the fact that Solus is not part of a non-profit currently so I don't know how do-able this would be. However I just wanted to give a suggestion <3

tyro so I don't know how do-able this would be

Not at all. We used to be partnered with Unixstickers however when they switched how they sell stickers (now in bundles), they dropped the Solus stickers without informing us. Until we have a legal entity behind us that can handle all the profits we get from merch partners, this isn't something we're going to partake in (none of us want to take on the legal or financial burdens), and for obvious reasons we don't consent to anyone creating merch using our branding without coming to clear arrangements with us first (and any merch out there currently is done without our consent or forwarding of any profits / proceeds to us, and shouldn't be linked).

I too would ideally like stickers again, t-shirts, hoodies, a beanie (cap), etc.

I have a cousin near me who owns her own T-Shirt Printing press with designing software, printers, etc,
If I can help, let me know.

catfishsushi Thanks for offering, but it's more of a Tax thing than needing to find a supplier at the moment.

A tax thing? Do you want it to be a LLC/BV/GmbH? A non-profit foundation would be tax exempt in many countries and under easy circumstances possibly exempt from filing an accountant certified tax/result. This would make it less of a burden, as long as you would not hire someone as an employee. That would be a bit more complicated.

And bookkeeping is just a chore (haha, tell me about it, 2 companies and my private admin). What would be the financial burdens? Just curious. (disclosure: I happen to be experienced in some of those matters, but Not A Laywer and Not An Accountant). The chamber of commerce often has good (free) advise. So does your local tax authority.

ArjenR Josh covered this already. But put simply, there's no point in us accepting any money until we can guarantee that the majority of those funds can be funneled right back into Solus. Right now every cent would be taxed multiple times. First for VAT in the respective countries. Second for handling fees during transfers. Third as taxable income for whomever deposits those funds into an account for later purchases. And then there's the fees to the producer of the merch. For most cases that would be 30-50% off the top and there are other personal financial issues depending on who temporarily accepts the funds as income.
