Hi,

Kernel 5.3 has been released a couple of weeks ago and after some testing on my very dorky hardware I came to the conclusion that everything works nice and flawlessly, even standby. Are there any plans when to ship it? I really want Solus to get finally running on my laptop.

It was in unstable a couple weeks ago, in testing it caused serious issues for some nvidia users resulting in their system not booting. So until that is fixed, it stays on 5.2.x

Harvey Yup. And I'm on a work trip next week, so I won't be trying again until I get back.

Any news on this ? I believe switching to testing doesn't solve the issue right now. The 5.3 commit was revert back to 5.2.

@chax found that the issues are due to a patch that is applied in Solus. But there has not been a follow up so far.

The cause was found too late into the week for proper testing to take place, in addition there should be a new kernel released Sunday so it makes sense to wait for that. Then there are the other blockers such as the availability of Bryan to update the kernel and do subsequent rebuilds as well as any new issues that might be found in that weeks testing that would cause it to be reverted again.
