If you're more interested in screen area capture than in gnome-screenshot fix, then a workaround to capture an area is proposed in the same thread, indicated by @EbonJaeger.
The workaround uses imagemagick
package, which should be installed in Solus Gnome by default. Additionally, install also xclip
utility:
sudo eopkg install xclip
After that, replace the gnome-screenshot -ac
command you use to capture a screen area with this one:
import - | convert - png:- | xclip -selection clipboard -target image/png -i
Tested and works in Solus Gnome.
