10th Gen Intel / Dell XPS 7390

I picked up the new XPS 13 2 in 1 which has the 10th gen intel processor.
I know Linux/the kernel supports it but wanted to see if anyone has used Solus on a machine with the new processors.

How up to date is the kernel for Solus? Been a while since I've used Solus so I don't remember how easy it is to upgrade the kernel.

reifnotreef Kernel upgrades happen like any other software update with eopkg. Right now Solus' linux-current kernel is on 5.2.13 with 5.3.1 probably arriving in the next sync (likely Friday).

Ran into a problem when booting the USB.
"hw perf events fixed 4 > max(3), clipping!"
Is at it says where I would normally see the wall of text during initial start up post-grub.

reifnotreef Sounds like this issue is caused by owning a bleeding edge laptop (congratulations?).

The install ISO has a 4.20.xx kernel.
I do not believe there is any way to update an ISO to a a newer kernel, which should solve your problem.

Maybe someone else will chime in with an idea.

I was able to get Ubuntu 18.04 live to boot using the fix here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dell_XPS_13_2-in-1_(7390)

I'll report back when I try on Solus.
EDIT: No luck using that. I think the kernel is indeed the issue.

I'm gonna try to do some hacky stuff with virtualbox and see what I can come up with.
