When i try to boot Solus Plasma Testing from USB only option the boot menu gives me is reboot in to firmware settings .... tried GPT, MBR, same issue ... any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

Same thing happens with Solus Budgie 4.0 ....

the USB was created with Rufus

Have a look at these posts, it might help:

actually the 2nd post has no solution in it, as you can see the user is thinking of switching from Ubuntu, and even Mint is discussed, I'v already read it before you posted the link to it as I search the internet before I post a topic in a forum, after managing to brick my brand new USB that i bought 2 days ago with multiple formats, I somehow ended up finding this : https://itsfoss.com/create-solus-os-live-usb/ ... the first post is suggesting i use Rufus, which i did, to the point of bricking my USB, seems Solus 4.0 won't boot from USB if you use Rufus, never the less, the solution is to use the app USBWritter from inside Windows, or to use gnome-multi-writer if using a different linux distro, i plugged in my 2nd USB wrote it with USBwritter, and now I'm in Solus 4.0
