Nvidia driver not working on Solus plasma

i managed to install Solus plasma, but if i install nvidia drivers it boots into a command line login

The nvidia card is correctly detected:

i noticed that xrandr detects no monitor if i install them and there's no xorg.conf in /etc/X11

Phenogram nvidia-glx-driver-current should be the right one. Unfortunately the Plasma Edition is tied to our Unstable repo by default and we are currently trying to find the cause of the exact driver issue you are experiencing. It doesn't seem to consistently affect one set of Nvidia hardware. The best recommendation I have for you right now is to either boot with the previously installed kernel or to uninstall the Nvidia driver and use nouveau until we have a fix.

DataDrake Yeah i'm sticking to nouveau for the time being, with some tweaks it runs surprisingly smoothly.
i dont think it's a hardware issue though since i was running solus budgie previously, and i tried plasma with a rough eopkg install -c plasma install and it had no performance problems.

Phenogram It's related to the new kernel (5.3.1) in the Unstable repo. We've had a few reports since I upgraded it the other day and the only affected hardware is some Nvidia GPUs. You are only seeing this because the Plasma ISO installs with the Unstable repo enabled instead of the usual Shannon (stable) repo.
