Steam Failed to load steamui.so

Hello!

I've been using Solus as my first linux distro for about a month now, and everything has, up until yesterday, gone pretty smoothly! I don't know if these issues are related somehow, but simultaneously the OS appeared to stop recognizing my wifi adapter (got the "device not managed" and "device not ready" messages in my networks tab - which I have managed to resolve), and Steam, which had run perfectly from day 1, now refuses to launch due to "Fatal Error: Failed to load steamui.so".
I did see the other topic on the Solus forums about this issue, however that poster didn't appear to be having exactly the same problem as me, as steam doesn't launch regardless of my options in LSI, and the fix there didn't work for me. I've also seen a million other people with this issue on other forums, but none of the fixes I've come across have worked for me - whether that's due to some incompetence on my part, or something else, I'm not sure 😅

At any rate, if someone could help me troubleshoot this a bit, I'd be much obliged!

Oh, and if this is any help, this is the output when I attempt to run steam.sh through the terminal:

Is your system fully up to date?
sudo eopkg up -y

is libharfbuzz installed?
sudo eopkg it harfbuzz harfbuzz-32bit

Check for broken packages
sudo eopkg check | grep Broken | awk '{print $4}' | xargs sudo eopkg it --reinstall

Hi, thanks for the response.
I updated yesterday, but it appears one more thing updated overnight... I missed what it was, apologies...
libharfbuzz and harfbuzz-32bit were already installed, I reinstalled it just to be sure.
I couldn't get the pipeline you provided to work - the terminal complained about incorrect usage of eopkg it - but I ran sudo eopkg check by itself and reinstalled the broken package "hwdata"
I also reinstalled steam and rebooted again for good measure, but no luck.

I would suggest removing steam, deleting the steam directories:
/home/username/.local/share/steam /home/username/.steam
and then install steam again.

This will delete installed games and game saves. So back them up if you want them. There is a tool calledGBML in the repository which can help you backup saves.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already attempted that several times, in addition to reinstalling through the software center.
