I tried to use it with VLC but it says that lua file is not installed although it is. I also tried MPV, but it crashes on start. Maybe because it is .so library file, not a normal binary, as far as I understand what happens.
On a side note. The support site states that the VLC bug is solved in newer version. If there's no answer, I may ask on dev tracker to update Syncplay
