novv openoffice is great for me. but that stuff is not available here
I set up a new Windows 11 desktop for a friend yesterday. He has been using OpenOffice for years at my suggestion. However, OpenOffice remains a 32-bit program, soon (in the Windows world) to be obsolete if not already. Accordingly, I installed LibreOffice on the new desktop, and when I set up the new desktop at his home on Thursday, I'm going to move his laptop over to LibreOffice as well.
I used OpenOffice for a decade or more, but it is not keeping up with the times. The single great advantage to OpenOffice is that it handles multi-lingual setups better than LibreOffice. In other respects (such 32-bit architecture and inability to save to DOCX and XLSX) OpenOffice lags.
