mattdamon You can try to do such simple steps. I often do so. Log in to your Google Account and Find Chrome Remote Desktop for PC in the Chrome Web Store and ainstall it. When you do this, you need to allow the Chrome Remote Desktop to access your device. Find the button “Add” and click on it! Add Chrome Remote Desktop, Open the Chrome App Launcher, find this extension and click the icon. Now you can use the remote access. Also, you can check some other ways https://rocketfiles.com/articles/how-to-use-chrome-remote-desktop. I ahve not used them already but I think they are workable.
nraygun I just created a Solus VM and I'm playing around with it. I ran into this issue and I think it's just missing the "cmp" command. I tried to find a "cmp" package in the software center but can't find it. "cmp" seems to be included with Ubuntu. How can the "cmp" command be added to Solus? Is it part of a larger package?

hojo33 You can have a look at on premise R-HUB remote support servers for all your remote desktop and remote support needs. It works on all platforms viz Windows, MAC, Android, iOS etc. and works from behind the firewall, hence better security.
bigrammy Can support for remotedesktop.google be added to the repository PLEASE!! I would much prefer to use Google than some company I never heard of before or jump through ton's of hoops and make system changes everywhere not only on My PC but on those PC's I got family members on. After years of raving about Solus I managed to get most of my family using Solus now but many of them are just not tekkie so this means me traveling to their home and doing whatever needs to be done on their PC. When I saw google's remote desktop extension I was overjoyed thinking at last a simple secure'ish solution that everyone can install including me and this will allow me to support any family members who have difficulties in these strange times where restriction to me going to their home's is in effect. I can't expect Granny to start making system edits when all she knows how to do is open chrome and order some food shopping and even that was a task. 🤣 66% of the entire world use chrome so it would make sense for Solus to support it. https://gs.statcounter.com/browser-market-share EDIT: Does anyone know how to compile this for Solus using the source code to make a .eopkg instead of the .deb or point me to any good noob friendly tut's. https://github.com/ChromiumWebApps/chromium/tree/master/remoting/host/installer
kro I think RustDest is currently the best remote desktop solution. It's an alternative to TeamViewer, AnyDesk, DWService, and it's the only one to be fully open source, because both client and server are under GPL. I've just submitted a package request : https://dev.getsol.us/T10323
brent kro Good for you, if you like it, that's what the package request is for. Of course they will want to know why its better than teamviewer, etc and what users may target it. Then find a maintainer. Package inclusion is an interesting process. edit, good luck
