JoshStrobl the laptop is almost brand new. Is barely used monthly. There was 2 maybe 3 programs download in to it.
If what you said is correct and efi partition had gotten formatted wouldn't the laptop boot to at least solus? Which I didn't format and certainly is not booting into solus.
I originally shrunk the main hdd position using diskmgmt on windows but Solus wouldn't install as it was requiring me to indicate where to locate a swap partition and where to locate the main partition (/) and will plain and simple not allow me to click next on installation. So the procedure has to be to create 2 partitions from windows on top of the efi partition, main windows partition, and the recovery partition set in by manufacturer. That I did on windows.
I resized the efi partition to aprox 512 Mb as it was advised in the forums for people having Grub installation failed because that's why I encountered.
I did resize the efi windows partition.
I'm 100% sure I did NOT format such partition.
So you are saying that the free space I needed to create in windows is actually 3 partitions.
It would be helpful if this information gets added to the website whereit might be easily found. Like where it gives you instructions on creating the bootable flash drive, including that the efi new partition should be by default format in windows to fat32 and that said partition needs to be labeled accordingly boot and spec. I only know how to do that part part in gpart as unable to do with diskmgmt.
Oh well I hope the development team takes note and make this a less cumbersome issue for other people.
