Neustrie I do like the idea behind Helium. Light fast and good ad blocking without the shadiness of Brave or Opera. Would love to see it as a package on Solus as to me it fits well, but then they would have to maintain a browser and while I am not maintainer and only dangerous with code beyond hardware related, I know browsers are a pain. I have issues I don't like about Brave and Opera, but at least I do like Vivaldi and Firefox. We are just missing a good lightweight browser.

What is a lightweight browser exactly? I feel that all chromium browsers are about the same in terms of CPU/RAM usage.

Currently, and despite some flaws, I prefer to stay with Firefox.

Sure, alternatives like Librewolf or Mullvad are very interesting, but they are based on… Firefox!
And if Firefox were to fail, what would become of these forks derived from this web browser?

When I left Ubuntu, I finally hope to find a new Linux distribution—one that wasn’t just yet another version of Ubuntu or Debian—and when I discovered Solus, I tried it and I have never regretted it.

If such a web browser were to exist (and provided it has a built-in translator), I might reconsider my opinion.
Will Servo be the one? Wait and see...

I use Helium. Not perfect. I need sync because I use 3 different OS's, which Helium does NOT have. But I like the features and simplicity.

Brave Origin's nightly.

Security/Privacy turned up and a lot of the extra gutted.

If you run Windows they charge a fee.

(Believe Chris Titus found a way around that? Seen the video on youtube but haven't watched it.)

Zen is my main browser, but I have been using ungoogled-chromium for web-app/singular tasks. I used to use Vivaldi for that, but I find I don't need all the extra stuff, and like the snappiness of ungoogled. Although after reading about Helium I might have to give it a try.

Helium, the first time you launch it, asks you to agree to 5-6 points of pure telemetry. While I'm glad it's opt-in or opt-out, it's never sat right with me. They abolished saved passwords which I thought was an interesting artistic decision. Since my plan was to finally move on from Ungoogled, I could not purpose Helium into a work browser. I went back to Ungoogled.

There's nothing wrong with Ungoogled at all.

Thorium was also /sus to me.

On EndeavourEOS I am madly in love with Trivalent (this is how you securely Chromium) but it exists as a deb or rpm so the AUR maintainer has his/her work cut out for them.
