Ciao Solus Forum handshakes n smiles to all, Solus Mate running live on this 2011 notebook with hdd n odd replaced with ssd, only sata 3Gbps, no sight of 6Gbps and poorly cooled as i'm on a environment temperature of 19.5 celsius 46° for cpu is too much - (are spectre and meltdown mitigations in place? i suppose yes). On a closing note i've used a same numbered cpu that's E5-2630L and being consistently low speed, performed much better in a no brand mobo, but thats another story, that is my offline Solus Hardware of choice.

Thanks all for continuing this thread, and posting such great specs.
I have learned by a page search that I seem to be the only one running the 4.9 LTS kernel.
So wish I could run current but for some unknown reason udev and 4.19 / 4.20 do not play ball on my system.
MintSpider Excuse me MintSpider I have an old game I play, I know it works wonderfully on Solus. It's open source but data is propietary so one gotta have the original disc to play. can I signal it? where? thanks
albj Excuse me MintSpider I have an old game I play, I know it works wonderfully on Solus. It's open source but data is propietary so one gotta have the original disc to play. can I signal it? where? thanks
Anyone able to assist?
I am unsure what "signal it" means, plus I am not really a gamer.

MintSpider In doubt I dont name it. Thank You for your attention and this thread, hope is helpful for a Solus Hardware Database. thanks
MintSpider I'm also on 4.9 (as posted in abelinux). My 2010 machine would (probably) gain very little with a newer kernel, so I'd rather stay on the stability that LTS provides, right?

joshontech My CPU temp is wrong it should be close or exactly the same as my GPU. I have a full water cooled system running from my cpu to gpu and than running threw 2 radiators. The 31C sounds about right though.
Here is Solus ran on Macbook Pro 8,2 with dead GPU.

Everything is good except scrolling with 2 fingers is not smooth like MacOS, battery is shorter, and fan control with mbpfan may not correct
