Hello, I landed in Solus Budgie and very satisfied with it, fast, reliable and a cool desktop experience.
Now I would like to ask, can I get rid of the annoying pop-up? Would it be risky to do that?

Thanks for any help.

alex2035 The obvious solution is to disable autologin : when you type your password when you login, it automatically unlocks the keyring. When you autologin, the keyring is not unlocked for obvious security reason -> you get this popup when an application need access to the keyring.
An alternative is to find out which app needs to unlock it and stop using it.

Yes, I suspected that. I am not getting into it, Ill disable Autologin, thank you so much.

Remove the password from the keyring, go to the keyring settings > right click the keyring > change password > type in your current password and leave the new password empty.

That's what I did, yes it's unsecure but less annoying on your private PC were only you have access

OK, I was there , placed an empty pw then I hesitated, "Im gonna break something..." , Ill try it, thank you!

Sometimes this happens when Google accounts are used, for example Google on Online Accounts.

indeed, it can be seen in the Paswwords and Keys dialog, in Login the description says "GOA google credentials for identity account...etc" so I guess its what you stated. I wonder if leaving the Keyring Pass blank would not make a vulnerability more probable in that case...

Not really solved, I hoped but no dice. A blank password in LOGIN at the Passwords and Keys menu brings the Unlock Keyring pw request nevertheless. No problem, Ill keep everything as default, want no problems. I have dealt too many times , too many years, playing with terminal, commands, et al, I am getting old and not interested any more in playing the nerd. 🤣

Hello everyone! I'm having the same issue after applying one of the usual eopkg upgrade .

I do not have autologin enabled.
I do have a Google account regularly connected and the keyring pop-up doesn't seem to be related to my online account.

    Anyone with the same issue?
Is there anything that I can try to fix it?
This post does not provide a solution, I don't know why it has been marked as "Solved" (maybe an update fixed it in the past?)

    Thanks.

We are talking about the KDE Wallet, aren't we? I'm just wondering whether the Wallet and the Keyring are the same thing. On my KDE Plasma systems, the KDE Wallet is enabled by default, but I never see that annoying popup that I see elsewhere.

The issue you are experiencing is almost certainly completely different, just because an issue looks the same doesn't mean it is the same or that it has the same cause or solution.
