Where the hell are the SYSTEM SETTINGS?

I cannot find them anymore, and looking for them I discovered something weird called OPTIMIZATIONS or whatever the Englisch original might be (they're called "GNOME Optimizations 3.32.0" when you open the "about" window).
That's a joke, isn't it?
For example all hardware settings - gone.
What's more, in a former post (about a month old) Justin replied to the author of the original post:
"Sounds like you might have removed it. sudo eopkg it --reinstall gnome-control-center"
I hope that that won't be an answer I will get - I haven't done anything apart from the usual update after last Friday.

Please, explain!

You're either looking for Settings or Budgie Desktop Settings

SOLVED:

I know it is SETTINGS (not BUDGIE DESKTOP SETTINGS).
"SETTINGS" (what I was looking for) is called GNOME-CONTROL-CENTER, and for whatever reason that had been deinstalled.
By opening a terminal and typing "sudo eopkg it --reinstall gnome-control-center" I could reinstall it and all is good now.

Mind you: It wasn't my doing, it happened automatically by updating SOLUS last weekend.
And guess what: I can even delete printer jobs which wasn't possible in the past! Whoohoo!!

So, I have calmed down.
And now for something completely different...

It sounds impossible 'it happened automatically by updating'. I did that update too, no error and no problem.
You might be you removed a package with gnome dependencies and you did not recognize it.

and please, calm down before starting discussion.

No, seriously, I was just worried that something creepy might have happened because I definitely hadn't removed anything with which I might have removed a gnome package.

Ah well, #### happens.
It's all working again now, and I shall go to my little monastery and meditate.

Daily functions you are used to are now gone? Yep.
The indirect printer problem magically fixed itself but you don't see the irony? Of course.
Marched into forum with an unchecked tone and panicky voice? I surely have yes to all of these.

Have had days like this before. All good. Breathe, smile, gather facts, be patient. It'll all work out.
Busted DE is small potatoes in the scheme of things🙂--but I didn't know that then...

I also lost system settings, only two thinks happond, updates and I changed monitor from 1440 to 1080. I did "sudo eopkg it --reinstall gnome-control-center" now it works again. Thanks
