Justin Perhaps, you do have a point.... However, I am not going to break down my walls just because crooks can break into my house much more easily than before. Thanks for giving some food for thought, though. It is an interesting question: does privacy on the internet exist? Thanks a lot, bro! π
dug It is still in alpha. It is probably going to be with a lot of bugs. The problem with instant messengers, for me, is not finding the most secure one there is. That is the easy part. It is finding something secure that people will like which is the most daunting part. Face it! We can get used to using the most secure thing out there but you will have a tough time convincing others to use it. I believe that is why even security experts use WhatsApp! π
Nacho_Trebuchet I agree with you and I can also relate to your difficulties with getting others to use Wire. While its completely open source nature is something that I would like to support, there are a lot of bugs and crashes. Maybe, that is why you have trouble getting people to use it. People want something reliable to use and Wire is definitely not reliable. If you don't trust me, just check the reviews on Play Store and App Store. It is always important to remember that when we are dealing with other people, things don't always go as we would like to. We will always have to make compromises. That is why I decided to reluctantly use Telegram. While being more secure than the mainstream offerings, it is completely usable and reliable (in addition to many other perks). π
