Izaic I have to say Minecraft. It's a longtime classic of mine... i take breaks for a lengthy period, but i always find myself playing it again.
Bhibb I just got a new release, Disco Elysium, to work on Solus! I'm super excited to play through and it works flawlessly (with a little tweaking). Huge thanks to the managers of the repo for including Lutris which makes it possible to play my new game!
Qn1f3 Rocket League is my undying beauty or brute for that matter, also Minecraft always finds it's way back. Enter the Gungeon, any of the SteamWorld games.. Currently preparing my full-fledged migration to Linux, one part of that is bidding farewell to all software not available on the platform. So bye bye to anything AAA basically.
Nefilim World of Warcraft (Classic) and some Path of Exile, whenever i have some spare time. Both run flawlessly. 😊
nodq WoW, Dota2, Dota Underlords, Overwatch, HotS, SWTOR, Tekken 7, Warframe. And some new singpleplayer games like DMC, Tomb Raider etc.
Adures Well, when I finally moved from Windows to Solus I thought that my gamer days are gone. To my surprise Kingdom come: Deliverance and Guild Wars 2 are working really smooth. Seems like I didn't have to say goodbye to my favorite games 😃
Harvey Adures Indeed. In case anyone here is not aware https://www.protondb.com provides a good overview on how well steam games run with Steam Play / Proton and the comments on titles are often helpful such as: You mentioned Kingdom come: Deliverance I had crappy performance with that game until following comments for that title. Such as copying some files to another directory and setting the launch options in steam for that title to PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 this was months ago so it may no longer be required but it made the game run much better for me.
nodq Adures Since around 2018 when proton and all that stuff really started, it is getting better and better like every month. tbh, most games that do not work are those that use anti cheat stuff like EAC etc. and most of time those games are not worth to support anyway (Epic games, EA or whatever..). But valve said they are working with those people of EAC for example to make it work on Steam/Linux/Proton. So I think it will get even better than it is right now.
Qn1f3 Justin I'm sure it does, but it's also to further solidify my idelogical standpoint. Many developers have lost their way and I can no longer support them because of that, Bli$$ are amongst them. Also indie developers seem to have the freshest takes on gaming, they often pour their souls into ideas they believe in, not simple cash grabs and games going gold which are not even deservant of a beta state. I know there are a lot of explanations why, but I won't accept it. 🙂
nodq Qn1f3 So you only wanna support indie games then? Because almost all AAA games are made by a company that is like Activision/Blizzard, EA, Ubisoft, Epic Games etc. if we look closer, there are not many companys left that are worth it to support. Because they all handle gaming and the playerbase like shit.
Quinix Dying light, Insurgency , GRID Autosport, 7 Day to Die, Chivalry, Beholder , Payday 2 , Euro Truck Simulator 2 , Borderlands 2 , Sir You Are Being hunted, and more... But I'm only casual. So play relatively rare
babybio MaoAthanaric o7 CMDR Does ED play well on linux now? I know there was a long thread about it on the frontier forums but I was happy playing it on windows and not really using linux much then anyway. I am ashamed of how many hours Steam tells me I have wasted in ED 😃 As to what I play on linux, atm it is nothing. I haven't used linux much for a few years and I am just trying to get back to using it.
