Two users with different languages

Hi, I have just installed Solus Budgie, and would like to have two users each with UI in different languages, but for the life of me I can't get this done. So for example, User1 - English, User2 - Slovenian. I have set the appropriate language manulay in each user profile, but no matter what I do, I always end up with both profiles in either English or both in Slovenian. Am I doing something wrong 😅 , or is this just not possible?

I'm bumping this issue since if this option exists in Solus Budgie, I haven't found it also, so please anyone be so kind to guide me to it.

If it doesn't exist, I believe it to be a very reasonable feature to have in any operating system and my questions would be: why can't a person speak language A and share a system with a person that speaks language 'not A'?

I still wonder if your answer is simply a permissions things, however.

brent Nope. Tried what's advised there and I still get a 'All or Nothing' situation, i.e, same language for all users.

I wonder why is there a 'Language' option in the users settings if it doesn't allow to change from defaults

mestrini There has to be some way (work around? finagling?) to modify or make stick a default language per user profile. I would think this is possible but don't know where one would start.
I hope someone points you in the right direction.

I looked at this some more since it is perstering me. Think this out.
In the solus .iso you have to select a single language in which to run solus.
If this language is exclusive to the operating system then I don't know.
But if this language is only exclusive to the profile you created during install then it's it could be surmised that inside another profile would be something like LANG=EN.UTFwhatever that one could set.
Reading is taking me to /.config and /locale files attached the display manager---but in other distros.
Conceptually this could be easy, but trial and error, I'm realizing, contains peril.

I have achieved at least a partial success on this topic which I would like to share here.
Local language files are controlled by SystemD with the help of localectl.

My system settings are all German and only one admin account is available. Before I create a new account in e.g. English language I have changed one thing.

localectl to control the settings
localectl list-locales | less Display the language files and can be quite with Key "Q„
sudo localectl set-locale de_DE.UTF-8,en_GB.UTF-8 Set the languages separated by a commad
localectl -h Help
man localectl man page

After I made this change I could create an account in english language. Unfortunately some graphical displays are still available in German. Maybe I made a mistake somewhere or did not keep the order.
But I hope that this is helpful for the further procedure.

The locale service--not individual profiles or files, per se--determine which languages will be allowed to be used on the OS, for later configuration. I'm sure there are other ways to skin this cat, but bravo. Didn't even know this was a service.
