When I try to boot into the Solus ISO, I get the error Load Kernel Module, but it still loads into the desktop, where I am able to go to the desktop to run the install OS application. Once I do this, it prompts me to restart my computer, but it freezes once I try to do so. The only thing I can do is to hold the power button, but the OS is not properly installed and I am unable to boot into it without the ISO. I have tried mount the ISO to both a DVD and a flash drive with the same result. I predict that it is a problem with the GPU. It unfortunately seems that Windows 10 is my only option for this laptop since I cannot disable the GPU through BIOS.

Failed to start Load Kernel Module and unable to restart into OS
After looking around, one person suggests using efibootmgr from the live usb, but that only causes my laptop to freeze.
I have a 1060 GTX as well, I simply during boot add nomodeset to the boot options on the first boot, then upgrade and install the nvidia driver. Once this is done, it boots fine.
Justin I read this advice somewhere else, but there is no way for me to add nomodeset to the boot options. I have tried to stop the boot by pressing a key and it simply does not work.
Thr0wAwaY You should try again because it does work.

If you manage to get the boot menu, then press e

kyrios I tried pressing the spacebar when booing into the live usb and I still can't get to the boot menu. It's not like I cant boot into the live usb. I am able to download the files and it shows up on gparted. It is just that I can't see Solus in the UEFI boot menu. .Installing clr-boot-manager as well as anything just causes the laptop to freeze up.
Having similiar issues with the same error, also on an MSI laptop with a dedicated graphics card (1070). The difference for me is that Solus will boot off the hard drive afterward. Initially, trying to install anything, including updates, causes the system to become unresponsive, though the mouse cursor would still move. This occurred most recently while using DoFlicky to install the current Nvidia driver, though running the software updater did the same thing in past attempts.
The driver and bbswitch seemed to install successfully (the system had locked, but afterward eopkg told me it was installed), but now the desktop will no longer display and I can only get to the command line via ctrl+alt+F1. I ran a system update from there (and also tried to install the nvidia driver and bbswitch again, this is when I was told it was already installed), but it didn't change anything. I also tried the nomodeset thing from the link posted by kyrios but it has no effect. Additionally, pressing spacebar repeatedly, both before and after entering the LUKS password, doesn't seem to work.
FWIW, Linux Mint gives me similar issues on this particular laptop, however Manjaro will install just fine. Different USB devices and ports have been used as well, for both Mint and Solus, with no effect.
Manjaro is cool and all, but... I like Solus better. I'm happy to provide anything I can to help solve this issue for the both of us.
