WWAN gone

My Lenovo T480s features a SIM slot and I rarely use WWAN - if I don't have Wifi access. I now noticed that WWAN is gone altogether in Solus on my system. I suspect that it happened after a system update, probably within the last 4 weeks. Anyone else seeing this? Hints on how to debug this? Note: my system is dual boot, WWAN works fine in W10.

Strange: today, WWAN is back. No changes to the system. Just reboots. But I DID reboot before to recover it. Didn't work.

What I realized: The modem was auto-enumbered as "1" (when it did not work), now it's back to "0" (and works), like in

mbimcli --device=/dev/cdc-wdm0 --device-open-proxy --query-device-caps
