EbonJaeger dear devs, Big thanks for this update:

alsamixer: works normal again and saves its configurations again.

mesa: the BUDGIE desk looks normal again and texts in NEMO file manager are readable again.

budgie-control-center still FAILS to start and gives an ERROR as reported here:

affected are a Dell Latitude E4200 and a HP Probook 6550b with Solus BUDGIE desk, installed from ISO 3 years ago.

i still hope that will be solved in another update?

Minor issue with Helix Notes on Gnome - when I open the app, a new icon appears - I imagine the new process is being open. Not sure if it's Helix Notes' fault or rather the way it was packaged for Solus?

jakubzet This is a packaging problem concerning the desktop file. This has already been fixed on unstable repository. So, you will get an update with that fix for helixnotes on next sync on friday.
You can fix this yourself for now by running:
sudo mv /usr/share/applications/HelixNotes.desktop /usr/share/applications/helixnotes.desktop
and sudo update-desktop-database
