i downloaded solus 4.8 and in the app store on some of the updates it ask me for the root password how do i find my password for root

thomasearl4419-a11y Its the password you picked inside of the installer when you were giving your name, computer name, password. whatever password you gave the installer is your password. unless you are saying it's not working?

Solus 4.8 is not up-to-date. If you install the latest ISO published on April 2026 you should be in 4.9. If you install from an older ISO, you will need a lot of updates. One of them, the week 4 sync, change the way you can use the root password. Just reboot after this update may fix the problem
