KDE Frozen on Blank Screen After Wake (TTY is accessible)

System: HP Omen 16-ap0047nr (yes, the cursed one), Ryzen 7 350, RTX 5060 Laptop, Solus 4.9, Plasma 6.6.5 (Wayland)
This has happened to me a couple times, so I've finally decided to report it.

Sometimes after waking my laptop from sleep, with an external monitor plugged in and lid closed and possibly in other situations, the screen remains blank while the power LED lights up. The laptop display's backlight turns on if the lid is opened. Switching to TTY works and that's how I got logs (It won't let me attach text files here, I forgot your preferred method of dealing with that)

It's definitely Nvidia related (as per usual), this section in journalctl seems related:

I don't know if there's anything you all can do about it but I figured I'd ask here just to see.

I'll look into that fbdev=0 thing to see if it helps; I probably won't be able to confirm if it fixed anything since this issue is very sporadic.

Probably nothing we can do if its a sleep state issue. Sleep states are very easy to break. Any kernel/driver/UEFI/BIOS update or hardware change has the potential to break it. I personally have had it break by simply connecting a usb wireless keyboard dongle or web cam.

Microsoft have a hardware certification program that tests for stuff like this but it cannot guarantee sleep states will continue to work. It passes their testing but by the time the consumer gets that hardware something could have changed to break it.

Since we do not develop any of those things there is nothing Solus can realistically do.

Ok I tried setting the nvidia_drm.fbdev=0 kernel parameter as recommended by https://forums.opensuse.org/t/nvidia-drm-error-message-on-boot/170943/2 using https://help.getsol.us/docs/user/quick-start/boot-management/.
If I reply back again, it didn't work 😅

The nvidia_drm.fbdev=0 kernel parameter appears to fix the issue after rebooting once, but on subsequent reboots I get a black screen.
I'll just deal with the issue for now I guess, since Nvidia won't fix the issue and the workaround seems to break other stuff.
