JayC I saw this on Reddit and was curious. When I searched in Solseek for installed packages I saw p7zip not 7zip. Is it the same thing? While becoming more and more comfortable on Linux, I am still learning my way around on security stuff. Thanks
Xoph Looking at p7zip it looks like a fork of 7Zip and hasn't been updated since last year. So likely vulnerable to it. But looking at it, just be smart about archives you download and extract. I am sure the Solus team is working on it.
Harvey Someone is indeed working on it: getsolus/packages9061 Ultimately nothing will save you from yourself. Do not download random shit you find online and you will be fine.
Clintre In addition to the above, for the time use the command line tools like unzip, unrar, and tar as they do not rely on p7zip/7zip.
JayC Thanks for info. While I have become comfortable in the basic use. Still learning the nuances. I don't usually click on "random 💩" so I should be good 😎
