Removing the password at session start-up

Hello,

Even though I have unchecked the ‘no password at login’ box, I am still prompted for a password before reaching my session.

Whether using Plasma or XFCE (which I install for colleagues), how can I ensure there is no password required at login?

Where do you see that? I'm not able to find that in KDE Plasma's settings. It sounds like you unchecked something that would have allowed what you want?

The only way I know of to log into Plasma without entering a password is
System Settings -> SDDM -> Behavior (at the top right)

You can set the system to automatically log in as a specific user

By any chance, do you know about XFCE?

I've found it for XFCE. It's in Settings / Users and Groups. There's an “Automatic login” option – just move the slider.
