This Update to plasma broke my crystal dock trying to compile and install again

its complaining about Qt6 do we not have it anymore?

I had all the needed stuff installed on this computer should not be an issue same comp I compile it on before.

My Samsung update broke my tv to so guess its not my day.

This is what its telling me when I try and run from terminal the existing crystal doc install

I did this recently to my big screen Samsung but I went to website, threw the firmware on a usb, then had the TV install it via menu. Jeez I have no idea how you revive a TV! Not your day!

You did not provide the exact error you got when compiling. I would bet the missing package you need to install is qt6-base-private-devel anything that uses that package should be rebuilt any time Qt is updated.

Additionally Qt v6.11 required more rebuilds than usual due to a QWayland interface version bump as you can see in the error you posted. Welcome to the world of package maintainers, much fun. 😛

Lightdm still refuse to work on 7.0.9-341 (Since 7.0.x it never works again on my 2016 HP Laptop AMD CPU/GPU)
Drivers checked, Installed packages checked, upgrades with no issues.

/boot partition with space left

I fixed the time out of the dev-tpmrm0.device during boot, check if this helps but the display manager fails again.

I installed gdm instead of lightdm and boot with the new kernel. The laptop works this way but I HATE GDM. I tried again reinstalling lightdm but fails miserably.

Installing linux-lts allow me to have a fully functional Solus Budgie again but this is like a workaround, not a real solution.

Any ideas?

majunia28 Same for me, laptop with AMD cpu (no gpu) and still not able to boot, I got a black screen. Staying on kernel 6.18 is the only solution for now.

Be aware that using Budgie 10.9.4 (X11) with GDM brings it's own set of problems currently.

The GNOME 50 GDM currently has an issue with wayland/X11. This leads to X11 Budgie having set XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland instead of being X11. Some apps like chrome browser will refuse to start.

So, sddm might be a better option currently.

I'm amazed that fell into place. With Samsung (and other vendor firmware/software updates) it's often an un-navigable clusterfudge. You lucked out 🙂

my Solus BUDGIE desk is having the same issue as user unclemez on his GNOME desk.

My:

- NEMO file manager does not show correct signs/words.

- BUDGIE-Control-Center: menu entries do not show correct signs/words.

- title bars do not show correct signs/words.

- background picture looks blurred/broken.

affected: HP 8560p with Solus BUDGIE desk, installed from ISO 3 years ago.

NOT affected: HP 8570p with Solus BUDGIE desk, installed from ISO from last year.

both have the same configurations.

any help is appreciated!
