angrysoft is eopkg still being developed, or is it being replace with moss from AerynOS? Does a roadmap exist anywhere so I can better understand the future of Solus?
This isn't an either or thing. Projects of this scope take time, and things have to remain working in the meantime.
The plan is still to transition to AerynOS tooling, including moss. The Solus and AerynOS teams keep in communications about this. A good portion of our tooling work has been to get to a point where we are able to use AerynOS tooling, and this is mentioned in each of our milestones on GitHub. The most recent work has involved, for example, the ability to build eopkg recipes from stones.
On the AerynOS side, their work is still in alpha stage (technical preview). They're making good progress. Their tooling is hands down an improvement over what we have in Solus. We look forward to being able to utilize it, but it's not yet ready for us to put into production. Both teams are working toward this, but it will take time. It's too early to publish a timeline, but we will communicate with users as our work progresses.
In the meantime, it is in Solus' and our users best interest to continue to make stability and quality of life improvements to the older tooling of eopkg, pisi and friends. The easier it is to build packages, the more attractive it is to our current and potential future maintainers. The better we support the software management experience, the better our distro is for all of you to use.
I hope this answers the questions you had. We're always happy to provide feedback.
