Yeah, funny enough, this "feature" is over a decade old, but the way they set it is if you have only one user and one session available, which when Gnome supported X11 and Wayland available, it would show. Now that X11 is gone, if you have just one user, you now also only have one session option. Looking it up it wasn't even received well back then as they Gnome devs said there was no reason for a user to need to logout, lol. Gnome doing Gnome things.
