Bonjour ,j'ai bien instalé mes pilotes xerox impression+scanner , mon imprimante fonctionne normalement mais mon scanner n'est pas reconu....

Yvon66 Have you tried using the linux drivers provided by Xerox?

Download the driver. You will get a file called Xerox_B205_Linux_PrintDriver_Utilities.tar.gz.
Extract it. Go to the directory
Downloads/Xerox_B205_Linux_PrintDriver_Utilities/uld with yout file browser. Right click menu, open in terminal
there you find install scripts

run sudo ./install-scanner.sh

report back if scanner is working now

Install sane-airscan and then run scanimage -L again (make sure to include the -L).

-install sane-backends (it should be installed)
--something like simplescan may not recognize it the first time. install different scanner software. something will see it. I'd start with Gscantopdf
--on occasion you may need to manually map the scanner ip address to get it to work
--experiment with any/all xerox packages in repo
---reboot reboot reboot

No USB scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that

you have loaded a kernel driver for your USB host controller and have setup

Not checking for parallel port scanners.

Most Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports

can't be detected by this program.

You may want to run this program as root to find all devices. Once you

found the scanner devices, be sure to adjust access permissions as

necessary.

pomon that would be so weird if the system/wheel split the permissions--between functions---of the same usb-connected device.
Can barely wrap my head around that but I've seen weirder. You are likely correct.
If you are correct that would explain 50% of "my printer works but not my scanner" which is so predominate on Linux forums including here...

Your printer is detected here: Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0924:42e8 Xerox B205.
However, the log says: could not open USB device 0x0924/0x42e8 at 001:005: Access denied.

Check if you belong to the scanner and lp groups by typing: groups.

If you are not in those groups, add yourself with:
sudo usermod -aG lp,scanner yves

Then reboot and check if the scanner is visible.

si ca peu aider, pour une distribution basé sur Debian ,il fau ipp-usb...

Bonjour

J'aime beaucoup Linux et j'aime tester les distros.Linux mint est Lmde sont très stable et très clé en main, j'aime bien Q4OS kde aussi très performant sur une base de Debian.Ces trois la font marcher ma Xerox impr. + scan sans même installer les pilotes.

J'ai essayé Solus Kde pour son modernisme ( Roling + noyau construit a zéro c'est impressionant…)Je trouve juste un peu dommage que le scan soi si peu accessible.
