I am a long-term Ublock Origin user. I thought it would be interesting to compare results between this and Brave's adblock engine.
Stock blocking lists that Ublock installs with are;
EasyList (ads)
EasyPrivacy (tracking)
Peter Lowe’s Ad server list (ads and tracking)
Online Malicious URL Blocklist
uBO's own lists
The stock Brave Adblock Engine seems to use some different choices, Most noticeably Peter Lowe’s Ad server list is not checked by default for inclusion although it is available. A very worthwhile box to tick as browsing without it is very different.
Browsing using the Brave Adblock Engine enabled instead of Ublock was not a lot different. It makes a nice alternative to using an extension although there is no quick and easy way to disable the adblocker if you land on a site that the Ublock options break, which can be a nuisance. I have not decided if there is any change in resources used by Firefox by removing the Ublock extension. Continuing to use Ublock Origin after enabling Brave's Adblock Engine seems to have a detrimental effect on ad blocking.
