Solus and Runit

Just curious given some recent happenings, but can Solus be run with Runit in place of Systemd?

And apart from that, I'm pretty sure (but waiting for staff to confirm or correct it) that Solus is systemd only.

Why should they do it? Solus is a systemd distribution. Nobody wants to change it

Solus is a systemd based distro and we have no plans to change that or support alternate init systems.

Fearmongering, pure and simple. That website simply lists "problems" and doesn't offer any solution other than "don't use systemd".
It's a strategy that, after 16 years (systemd was released in 2010), starts getting stale.

That subject got me going awhile back.
I finally said to myself The Solus team will handle it with class if issues should arise.
And I havent thought about it since.

Something to keep in mind: systemd adding a field for user age isn't inherently evil.

Whether the OS collects that info and fills that field, and what applications do with it: those are the things you should be concerned about.

I haven't seen anything from Solus staff that makes me concerned so far. Systemd definitely has some serious egg on their face though.
