Below is about Discover, not Solus in particular.
I noticed some changes to Discover this time, such as it will actually indicate 'Installing' on a package instead of just running the progress bar a second time over the word 'Unknown'. Progress.
What was less clear is the new message about the system needing to be restarted to install updates. This is literally true about some packages, and always has been. I don't know if we'll get to the point where we hotswap the kernel (maybe Aeryn will do that?). It's very Windowsy phrasing though, and Solus is not designed with the jackass chicanery that goes on in Windows. I would suggest instead 'Some updates will not be applied until system restart.' Also, the new button to 'Restart and apply updates' doesn't actually work. I'm of two minds about that. On the one hand it's incompetent. On the other it's one step from someone deciding they should -force- a restart after updates, and I will be happy if they are unable to do that. If I had trust in the attitude of the Discover devs I would just see it as a convenience feature but...
No apparent problems in the actual updates themselves though. Solus/Budgie.
