ProtonVPN - how to change email address

I've installed the gnome edition on a 2012 intel mac mini and I'm loving it!
I've a problem with ProtonVPN: How can I change the log in email address? I tried out the free version with one email address and it worked very well. I've since created a paid account using a different email address. I can't find anywhere on the app that allows me to change the log in email account?

If you are using proton-vpn-gtk-app, click in the top left corner and log out. Then, log in using your new address.

I tried that but log out is greyed out.

I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

I don't have it installed, but have you tried disconnecting and then seeing if the logout option is enabled?

Or perhaps try from the terminal:
protonvpn disconnect
protonvpn signout

I don't know why the "logout" button greyed out for you. It works fine for me. Can you open the settings menu and mangae acounts, then logout from there?

Another workaround is to install proton-vpn-cli. Then you can logout from terminal. I don't remember the exact command, you can check it yourself with protonvpn --help.

Show eopkg li | grep -iE "keyring|proton"
Check if you have a Proton entry in your keyring. Type seahorse in the terminal.

The protonvpn command refers to the proton-vpn-cli app. This is a different application than proton-vpn-gtk-app, which you can launch with the protonvpn-app command.

You can try the following:

sudo eopkg it proton-vpn-cli
protonvpn signout
protonvpn signin your_email/username # type password, it won't be visible

The GUI app should then log in using the new account session.

pomon After cli install: When I try the next two commands I get the following

Can you provide the output of the command: eopkg li | grep -iE "keyring|proton"?
Install: sudo eopkg it python-click

pomon I'm sure this will work. Unfortunately I've run into ProtonVPN account issues, only openVPN username setting are shown on my account. Which can't be used to sign in to the app. I need VPN app username settings, which I couldn't find. I have the same issue with my Macbook account. After a long frustrating and fruitless Proton helpline chat. I decided to delete the account.

Use the same email and password in the app as you do when logging into your account via a web browser. I know it used to be different, but they changed it.

pomon Tried this using their free service. IT WORKS!!! You've explained in one sentence how to get it working, that two hours of online chat failed to do. Big Thanks!!. Seems I was too hasty in deleting my account.
They must have changed their sign in very recently.
