Solseek - A TUI Package Manager Version - 1.0.0 Released

I wanted to start a new post for this to announce the release of 1.0.0 which is a milestone release, hitting the goals set forth back in October, plus a few.

First off, this system was not done by just me in any way. This was truly an effort from many in the community, both on here and beyond. We had many that brought in wonderful ideas, contributed to language support, and reported bugs.

I do have to call out two in particular as they hounded me with ideas and feedback 😉 Looking at you @Axios and @brent.

I would also like to thank @Harvey for being gentle when I first fumbled my way through a package release. @alfisya for feedback and logo help.

Unfortunately I failed to understand how to use github and introduce my language, but anyways... Great work!

Solseek is very clear, helps me do what I need to do (drivers, updates) in a couple of clicks and helps me dive deeper when I need to check packages. Big love!!!

reon What language? Worst case you can go here and download the en.ini and translate it into your language and share it with me. We can always find a way 😉

I like that you called out @Axios and @brent as they both had several good ideas and loved that you were open to them. They along with others including the devs showed how great this community is. Even though @Harvey did thump me over the idea of being installed by default. Granted it was deserved 😉

Xoph It really is something I feel is great. When the community is involved it makes working on something so much more fun. I truly enjoyed the feedback and those two were always coming up with something that was useful.

This is such a great tool. One, it just works better than Discover. Second, it has helped me ease my way more into the terminal side of things and has me learning more on that side of things.

Also makes me even more confident, seeing the community and Solus team involved, with my choice to go with Solus when everyone was telling me to go Mint when moving more into Linux. I have no regrets, and I did try Mint along with others before Solus.

Solseek 1.1.0 Released
This was not planned as it was going to just be a minor bug fix released, but we had a great feature request (jules / win8linux) for a soft-reboot option after system updates. For those that do not know what a soft reboot is, it is not a complete reboot where your system has to go through the whole boot process. It is a reboot of the user land. Most updates, this is enough. To accomplish this I also added a checker to see if any of the updates are something more core, such as a kernel upt, that needs a full reboot and it will alert you .

This all works whether you use the command line solseek up or from within the app.

Thanks to @davidjharder for pushing it through at the last minute for this weeks sync. I actually figured it would go out next week. They have been very busy on a whole lot of core updates.

I am just posting this here as a one timer didnt see sense making whole thread.
Have done everything I know On the Budgie machine to try and make it work let alone a new install
of budgie.(That may happen when wayland comes out)
So am just going leave it alone and not stress out. (Prob just stick with terminal on this machine)
Still makes no sense to me why its still doing the /tmp thing.

Small update this week. Mainly updating language files, but one little update for those that may miss the extra info that "eopkg info" brought compared to the way I had to move to for performance issues. Now when you are on a package in the list you will be able to use the keybind ctrl-e to view the full info for that package.

Nice. Most of the time the basic information is all I need, but sometimes it is nice to see all the info like reverse dependencies.

I'm using more often now for updates than the normal terminal commands.
