All Plasma users who stuck to the default Solus Plasma theme will notice a change to their theme this sync. Old Solus Plasma theming had been partially broken for awhile and fixing it has made existing installs load the old theme. To switch to the intended theme switch away from Solus PlasmaDark/Light and back again.

Thanks! I forgot to add to sync notes but chafa is in the repo. It renders images in the terminal and it's pretty cool. Check it out! sudo eopkg it chafa

Jaredy899 I always understood that embedding graphics into certain terminals was
1) limited to like 2-3 linux terminal-emulators only and
2) done via the usr/share/applications/ABC.desktop file

is chafaa whole different animal that has nothing to do with this? curious, thanks.

brent It can render in ASCII art in all terminals but it's true some emulators render it better (higher quality) than others. Budgie's built-in terminal isn't very good but konsole is better. And especially emulators like kitty, ghostty, alacritty do really well with it. and no desktop file needed or included. Just chafa image.png, chafa image.svg.

Jaredy899 when I get some down time I will play with this. Glad it's in repo. always loved pictures of terminals where cool graphics were embedded left of the output. Thanks for getting back to me.

All good on KDE Nvidia and Budgie AMD, thank you for the update as always! Got my retired father on Solus and this is his first update. Haven't heard anything so far, and that is the best possible outcome. So thank you from him as well!

Does this plasma update switch Solus to the new login greeter that they just added, or do I have to do that manually somehow?

VTMarik Try installing python-zope.interface as mentioned at the bottom of that log.

Scratch that the issue is in python-openssl. Updating that fixes this. I will do a PR.

The update on Plasma went in very smoothly and without any issues. Kudos to the team once again for all you do here.
Tried the new Plasma virtual keyboard briefly. Unfortunately it seems to be early days and operation was rather slow and clunky. The keyboard popped up nicely but then did not want to drop off the screen when I was finished using it. Back with Maliit again now.
