Luka I have a computer with a celeron processor and 4 gigabytes of RAM. What system version can I use?
BuzzPCSOS Luka Celeron processors are at the lower performance end of the intel range, 4GB of RAM is the minimum requirement for Solus. I would suggest Solus XFCE as being the most lightweight edition. It is helpful to know if your computer is Legacy (BIOS) or UEFI boot. Legacy boot may require manual installation. Replacing the hard disk drive with a SSD will also make the whole machine feel a lot snappier.
reon Luka Try with Solus Xfce from Live USB, and use the English language, or not everybody here will understand you.
BuzzPCSOS Luka Looking at some of your other posts it looks like you have already tried XFCE and have an SSD installed already. Computer performance has not been smooth on XFCE? It might be worth upgrading the RAM to 8GB which might smooth things out a little but Celeron processors are not great performers. Plasma is about the most power hungry OS, so maybe try Gnome or Budgie. Maybe a Gnome or Budgie user might join in here and advise what these Solus editions run like on a PC like yours.
mkl reon and use the English language, or not everybody here will understand you Not only that. It also has something to do with respect!
mkl I doubt Gnome will make any improvements here. With such an old machine, you have to accept the drawbacks. Eventually, everything comes to an end. There's no point in trying to force a dead horse when the rodeo season starts...
