User not in Sudoer file

After an update a few weeks ago, I'm noticing that my user was removed from the sudoer list. I'm not sure why, it's the only user on the system. Seems like it might have something to do with the change over from the software center to discover.

I haven't found a solution from the forums yet but also being cautious not to run something that will break the system.

Can anyone let me know a safe method for adding my username back into the sudoer file?

Just had the same issue; posted myself before I had the option to read your post

All you have to do is reboot. This is a one-time thing because we changed the admin group to be the more standard "wheel" group.

I was hesitant to try that thinking it could do just that or lock me out for good. Trying now, thanks!

UPDATE: fixed the problem with a reboot, thanks again!
