I've just realised that I joined 6 days before you! I came from Mint as I was getting a little bit put off by changes to Cinammon, and thought I'd give Budgie a try. Who was to know that within a year I'd be happily running Niri and not planning to move back to a full desktop environment any time soon (though Niri with DMS is pretty much that anyway).
I have also been tinkering with Linux for about 3 decades, starting out with Slackware XFCE, moving through Zenwalk, Salix, Crunchbang, Manjaro and Mint, before happily landing here. I'm lucky to be retired now, but that does limit how much I can contribute financially, though I'm hoping to donate something this year.
The community and team are both great, and that's what is likely to keep me here, hopefully until my computing days are over, whenever that may be! 😊
